Transactional advice

We advise clients on a broad range of property transactions including acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial and rural properties and we have extensive commercial, retail and industrial leasing experience.

We have acted for a number of clients who maintain large property portfolios both throughout Tasmania and interstate.

Streamlining documentation

In addition to transaction specific advice, we have also established template documentation including option agreements, deeds of grant of easement and lease and licence agreements (including automation and storage of that documentation on our Cadence platform).

Environmental & planning disputes

We regularly act for developers and Councils in planning appeals under the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 in TasCat, planning scheme amendments or major project assessments in the Tasmanian Planning Commission and in appeals in the Supreme Court.

We provide advice and appear in matters involving biosecurity obligations and offences under the Living Marine Resources Management Act and the Biosecurity Act 2019.

  • Advising non-government providers of community and social housing on large-scale developments including acquisitions and disposals, development and registration.
  • Preparing and negotiating off-the-plan purchase and development agreements.
  • Acting on behalf of statutory authorities and non-government organisations in relation to the acquisition, leasing and licensing of Crown land.
  • Conducting complex due diligence investigations.
  • Managing compulsory land and easement acquisitions for a statutory authority - from negotiations through to settlement and registration.
