‘wfh’ ‘wfh too’: Flexible working arrangements at ConMoto

It’s pretty common for the first couple of messages each day in our Everyone teams chat to be ‘wfh’ and ‘wfh too’. While it’s always nice to have the gang together in the office, most days of the week at least one of us will be working from home.

Everyone has their own routine that works for them, so we decided to ask everyone about their own flexible work arrangements:

Alastair:

I generally work from home two days each week so I can take my son to soccer and look after our three (!) dogs.   I also enjoy mixing up being in the office with the banter and spending a couple days at home with fewer distractions! I don’t tend to have fixed days when I work from home, and this flexibility is really useful when juggling family commitments.

Gerry:

I live 30 mins out of town and have three kids who do way too many activities. I usually work from home twice a week to keep up with that $hi*show.

Maddi:

I have four kids so fully endorse Gerry’s choice of word $h*tshow. I prefer being in the office, but I’m glad to have the option to work from home whenever I need to.

Ari:

I work four days a week so I have a some more time for my side hustle, local business Sip & Style! Also driving from Midway Point sucks! So some days I’d rather be home with my dogs (that’s my beautiful Bella in the photo).

Amy:

I’m in the office most days, but I appreciate being able to take an appointment or work from home whenever I might need to.

Cath:

I work from home on Mondays and Thursday to run kids around. I do get more work done when I work from home, not because other people distract me, but because I’m not distracting other people! I think it’s good for the office to have a break from each of us!

Grace W:

I got used to working from home when I spent a couple years working from Melbourne – yes, through COVID 🙁 Now I come into work for the fun stuff, but still like the balance of home days.

Ray:

I’m in the office most days (gotta stay Local Legend on the Hobart Bike Track somehow), but really appreciated being able to work from home last year when we got a new dog. Everyone at work was really supportive.

Travis:

I’ve always liked coming to the office, but I’ve recently become a parent and so am embracing all the changes that come with that! I now work four days per week and start my days early so I can be home by 5.

Grace K:

I’m generally in the office, but sometimes I like to work from home in the afternoons.

Besides our core team based in Hobart, we also have colleagues that are fully remote.
